INTERNET - ACCEPTABLE USE
POLICY
The use of Internet, email and other
mobile /digital technologies within school.
INTERNET USE
We want you to
enjoy using the Internet, but we also need to ensure that you are safe online
by:
-
giving you
computer equipment that works properly;
-
helping you
to go on websites that are safe;
-
teaching you
how to surf the web in a way that helps you to stay safe.
Everyone in the
school should be allowed to use the Internet and email and you can help make
sure that this
continues to happen:
-
always using
kind words when writing an email;
-
by only using
the Internet in school to do your class / homework and
-
not using it
to download music or speak to your friends on a special website;
-
looking after
the computer equipment so that others can use it too!
HOW TO STAY SAFE
The Internet
within school is filtered (by Brighton & Hove LEA using Webwasher software) to
prevent access to inappropriate websites, but if you, by mistake, go on a
website that you find is unsafe or inappropriate, let your teacher know straight
away.
If you receive an
email from someone that you find upsetting, let your teacher know straight away.
If you see or
receive anything that makes you feel worried, tell an adult you trust. You can
talk to your mum, dad or teacher.
Do not give out
any personal details to anyone else online.
MOBILE PHONES
If you have a
mobile phone and you are allowed to have it in school, remember it should only
be used for emergencies and not in a way that might make someone sad.
