(Inside cover)

Once upon a time there was a school called
Middle Street.

It was in Brighton.

Brighton is at the seaside.

There are lots of shops

and boats

and a theatre.

There is a Pavilion where kings and queens
used to live.

Middle Street school was built a long time ago.

It is getting old now so it has to be pulled down.

But another school is going to be built in the
 same place.

At the end of the year workmen came to pull down the first part of the school.

They took off the slates.

A big yellow machine pulled down the roof.
