	The Cog recycling scheme was run by the Women’s Voluntary Service, and got its name from the idea that salvage was a vital part of the 'war machine'. School children were encouraged to collect salvage material and also to design posters to remind everyone to recycle. This Cog Song was written by WVS members to inspire children, who could also be awarded special Cog badges.
